Donor advised funds have soared in popularity, becoming philanthropy's fastest growing vehicle in recent years. Charitable assets in these funds crossed the $50 billion mark in 2013 for the first time, and contributions to these funds total more than 5% of all charitable giving in the U.S. (according to the National Philanthropic Trust). The coverage of DAFs in the media and publications has increased with their popularity. Of course, there is no shortage of opinions on DAFs and that has led to conflicting and misinformation in the marketplace.
